The Sacrifice & Serenity of Antietam
Preserving the hallowed ground at Sharpsburg, Maryland is a tribute to our
nation and appropriate way to honor those who fought here on the
bloodiest day in American history, September 17, 1862.  The text on the
Private Soldier Monument in Antietam National Cemetery –“Not for
themselves but for their country”—aptly underscores the events of that day
and why this special place should be protected and cared for.        

Preserving Your Antietam Battlefield
Private funding is increasingly critical to park projects such as land
acquisition, historic structure restoration and youth education.  The
nonprofit Antietam Partner program supports these and other battlefield
initiatives.  There are three ways you can help:

Become an Antietam Partner
As an Antietam Partner you receive year-round benefits including a
National Parks Pass and discounts from the Antietam Museum Store &
other park stores.  
Join us as an Antietam Partner.

Sponsor a Battlefield Project
There are numerous projects that can benefit from your tax-deductible gift.  
Help restore a historic fence, preserve a cannon or monument, and
maintain park trails or plant trees to bring back the famous East, West and
North Woods.

Make a Purchase from the Park Store
Proceeds from the sale of books, videos and other items in the park store
support the battlefield.  Antietam Partners receive 10% off all purchases.
